My Journey
It began when I was 17 years old. I'd left school and my parents sent me on a typing course. I excelled and started writing my first romantic story - I still have the original on paper. I couldn't stop and went on to write four more stories before I turned 20. Then, life happened and everything changed. My writing ended. I grew older, got married, settled down. Then, from nowhere, I was jolted by a story that would not let me go. I dreamed about my characters, they were real to me. I started writing their story. I self-published Sunset Dreams in February 2015. While writing this story, more stories lingered in the recesses of my brain. I wrote them too. I am still writing and my characters keep waiting for me to tell their story. I intend to.

My name is Yvie and I'm an author
I write steamy romance novels that take place in and around my beautiful country, South Africa.
I was born in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), but grew up with my amazing family in Johannesburg. I married my husband, Jason, and we moved to the glorious subtropical town of Durban, along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
I am passionate about the environment and want to preserve our Earth and all her precious creatures, big and small. I love nature, and especially enjoy spending time in our nature reserves.
Mountains, streams, trees and flowers makes me happy. Music and art are my comforts.
I love English and I love to write. I was fortunate to find an incredible publisher - Black Opal Books - who published Healing Hearts and are currently reviewing two more of my manuscripts.
I am a member of ROSA (Romance Organisation of South Africa).
I grew up reading Mills 'n Boon & Silhouette. As I grew older, I fell in love with Danielle Steel & Jilly Cooper - I wanted to write just like them.
As my reader, I want you to fall in love with my stories, to lose yourself in the setting and to identify with my characters. I especially want you to come back for more.
